Lorena Gesuale
Therapy is a space to connect with your authentic self, explore your emotional experiences, and understand unconscious drives shaping your life. Emotions, even when hard to bear, can serve as inner compasses, guiding us toward deeper truths about our experiences, identity, and needs. I work with depression, anxiety, grief, disordered eating, identity exploration, emotional regulation, life transitions, intergenerational trauma, first- and second-generation immigration experiences, and relationship difficulties with self and others. Whatever challenges you face, I aim to create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space. My tone is gentle yet direct, and I welcome humor in the therapeutic space.
Using a psychodynamic lens, I explore how your past may influence present-day behaviors, thought patterns, and relationship dynamics. I believe self-awareness fosters self-acceptance and lasting change. As a certified yoga teacher, I’m also drawn to psychosomatic therapies, including how emotional states manifest physically, and to yin practices that encourage slowing down and turning inward.
Therapy can feel daunting, but it’s also a courageous step towards self-discovery and healing. I view it as a partnership, with you guiding the journey, while I offer support and insight. I welcome adults, adolescents, and couples of all backgrounds and attune to the influence of culture, family, and lived experience. I look forward to creating a safe space for exploration and lasting change.
