Kirsten Berman, LMSW
I see therapy as a place to slow down, breathe, and gently step into change. Many of my clients come in feeling stretched thin by relationships, social anxiety, or the quiet pressure of impostor syndrome. Others are carrying the weight of complex trauma, relational wounds, or event-based trauma such as sudden loss, medical crises, or accidents. Whatever brings you here, I offer a compassionate space where you can be fully seen and supported.
My approach blends mindfulness, meditation, DBT skills, eco-therapy, and animal-assisted therapy. For some, reconnecting with the body, the breath, or even the natural world opens doors to healing that words alone cannot. Together we might sit with difficult emotions, explore patterns in relationships, or practice new skills for balance and resilience.
I especially enjoy supporting people who struggle with perfectionism, self-esteem, or identity questions. Therapy with me is collaborative and non-judgmental—we’ll look at what keeps you stuck while also cultivating acceptance, resilience, and self-compassion. I earned my MSW training at UNC Chapel Hill and UT Austin, experiences that grounded me in both evidence-based approaches and creative, integrative practices. My hope is that our work supports not just relief from suffering, but a life that feels more connected, balanced, and aligned with who you truly are.
