Fatoumata Magassa, LMSW

You deserve a space where your full story can be honored. Many of the people I work with are navigating relationships, including interracial couples and high-achieving partners balancing love with demanding careers. Others come to therapy carrying the weight of anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or impostor syndrome—challenges that often show up in fields like finance, law, medicine, academia, and the arts. My role is to provide a supportive space where we can sort through these pressures together and create lasting change.

I also work with individuals and families facing intergenerational and cultural identity conflict, as well as those impacted by complex trauma (C-PTSD) and event-based trauma such as sudden loss, medical crises, or accidents. My practice centers inclusivity and affirmation, and I am deeply committed to supporting Queer and Trans People of Color (QTPOC), whose needs are too often overlooked in traditional therapy. Whether we’re exploring family dynamics, healing old wounds, or building healthier patterns, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and affirming. I earned my BA in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago and my MSW from Columbia University. Together we’ll focus on what matters most to you—developing strategies to manage stress, improving communication, and strengthening both self-compassion and resilience.
